The “symbol of Egyptian-Soviet friendship” was inaugurated near the body of the High Dam in Aswan Governorate, to be a witness to the strength of Russian relations since the era of the late President and leader Gamal Abdel Nasser.
The Russian architect Yuri Umletre Shinko designed the friendship symbol in the form of an open lotus flower and implemented it by the Egyptian cement company.
The height of the symbol of friendship is 72 meters, while the height of the tower is about 600 meters, due to the slope of the ground level from south to north.
The symbol consists of 5 papers, such as the lotus flower, which the designer chose because of its sanctity to the ancient Egyptians.
The symbol of friendship is one of the most important tourist attractions that every tourist or visitor arrives in Aswan, as it is included in the basic tourist programs, and witnesses a great turnout on a daily basis because it represents a masterpiece and aesthetic panorama in an important area of the land of Egypt, which is the High Dam.
