Yesterday I headed for Bandar Lampung from Jakarta. My goal here is to survey the iron ore mine. To get to Bandar Lampung, we have to pass through the Sunda Strait.
The Sunda Strait is a strait that connects the islands of Java and Sumatra in Indonesia, and connects the Java Sea with the Indian Ocean. At the narrowest point, the width of the Sunda Strait is only about 30 km. Several small islands are located in this strait, including Krakatau volcanic island.
The duration of the trip across the Sunda Strait by boat is 1.5 hours.
