The Story of Yogyakarta Local Guides

Hello all of my fellow friends all around the world, first of all, let me introduce my self, my name is Binar Atmaja, im from Yogyakarta Local Guides, Indonesia Based. and here the story of our community

Seems like it was only a few months ago that we were sharing the story of our daily life’ eat the catfish on some of our friends home, and disscuss to make our first meet ups at madam tan resto. Remember?

@PuputR @user_not_found @binar @MasDinnu @sejuta_pelangi

this is our very first meet, an doing a conversation about holding a meet up, the very first meet up for Yogyakarta Local Guides, H-2, i cant mention all the name of it, haha, just imagine from 5 member into 200++ active member.

they re not just a friend anymore, there like a family to me, there mean a lot.

our second meet up, we do lot of fun thing to do also we had a visitor from Bandung Local Guides

Mr Sri Sedono (unfortunately i cant tag him, i cant search his name, :D)

our first meet with Google Connect Moderator (nowdays) @NunungAfuah

she is so inspiring and yet so funny, dont judge the book by its cover, she is silent but deadly.

Another visitor who inspire us also, Mr @user_not_found from Batu Local Guides. and again @NunungAfuah

seems like jogja is calling them back

exchaning information and make a social awareness about how important information is, making a good review is like helping other people. So yes, storytelling builds community, or at least helps the process when the conditions are right over time. NO one can guarantee exactly what will be the effect with any one telling of any one story by any particular teller with any particular listener, but storytelling is an essential activity by which community grows.

Nowdays we are growing and growing, make people souround us aware and knew that Local Guides is matter, we do Meet Ups, Foodcrawl, Geowalk, hosting a small meet ups, helding a conversation like no you no longer our guest (you are our friends)

from the very small footprint on the internet, became a well known community, much more than that, were a family

When you look at the pictures of us, watch the videos of our movement, and read the stories from our community, you might ask, “why are these people so hopeful when there are so many problems in the world?” Good question.

In our communities, we do not have money to give to our children. But in 20 years, these pines will be the legacy I can leave them.” Joining Local Guides is like planting the goodness what is planted today will provide for tomorrow.

with love

Hello @binar ,

It is best to avoid over-tagging people, as some people may not feel comfortable about it too.

Just out of my curiosity, from all of the events you had been to which one is the most unforgettable for you?, because as we know the there are a lot of various meet-ups organize by the Indonesian Local Guides.
