In a world overcome with worries and distractions taking the time to get outside can help relieve some of those daily stresses. It is widely accepted that we are more disconnected from nature today than we were a century ago.
It just goes to show that just living amongst nature and making it a priority to spend time outdoors is enough to have a positive effect on your well-being.
Far from the madding crowd, one such pleasing beauty of nature is Bidyang Valley.
It’s a newly found gem surrounded by the astounding hills of North Bengal.
The valley is located on the banks of Relli River, a small river originating in North Bengal and concluding its journey at the Teesta River. It is not a sightseeing hotspot but a destination for different activities that the visitor can engage in and enjoy.
The wooden hanging bridge over the river is a nice place to enjoy. You can take a walk up or down the valley and soon get lost in an area bereft of human habitation.
Also, there is a tiny waterfall on the river bank quite close to the hanging bridge. You can just walk by the river to find your way to the waterfall. This waterfall is perhaps unnamed. However, as Shakespeare had said ‘what is in a name?’;
There is another waterfall near doon valley homestay. A narrow and rocky uphill trail leads to the waterfall. At that time, the trail was quite slippery due to rains.
There are only two homestays, across and across the river.
- Relli river side homestay
