The Sheetala Mata Temple is the most prominent temple in Gurugram and also a large building complex spread over a vast area.
It is an ornate 18th-century Hindu temple & popular pilgrimage site, dedicated to the goddess Shitala Devi.
The temple is unique in that you cannot take prasad inside nor there is a shoe stand so keep your shoes at home or in the vehicle or at the mercy of beggars outside.
There are 2 types of religions in the world - Intellectual and experiential. The intellectual religions are Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, etc. that are headed by one holy figure like the Buddha or Jesus Christ who decide everything what to do and what to not for the followers and also the consequence if they do not follow the path like burning in hell and so on.
Comparatively, Hinduism is an experiential religion wherein there is no single God or the holy person who narrates the Dos and Don’ts. Instead, the followers are free to choose God as per their requirements. As a result, there are several temporary temples inside along the Bhairav Baba, Shani Dev parikrama route.
