Jaffa is a main tourist attraction in Israel. This old port city gathers many tourists every year who come to enjoy this beautiful city. Jaffa is a mixture of cultures, traditions and people. Here Jews, Muslims and Christians live together in peace and keep their traditions. Therefore there are many types of restaurants in Jaffa, from Arabic,Israeli, Greek, Italian, American and other cuisines to Doner places, vegetarian restaurants, hip cafes, fine bars and much more. As a proud resident of this beautiful city, I love to share some of secret spots or places that should not be missed in our city. The majority of the businesses in Jaffa are local, ran by local people who make Jaffa such a fascinating place to visit. Don’t miss The old Port, The Flea Market, Jaffa hill and and the alleys of old Jaffa. If you like to enjoy a day at the beach , try Givat Aliyah beach in the southern part of the city. I think it is better than all the other beaches in Tel Aviv.
So here are a few recommended places to dine in our beautiful city:
For a quick coffee with great pastries try Milk, on Beit Eshel st.
The best Arabic food is served at Haj Kahil at the Clock Square.Plenty of fresh salads, fine grill and traditional middle eastern dishes.
Shafa in the flea market serves excellent food in a great atmosphere. In my opinion the best restaurant in the Flea Market Area.
Abu Hassan is a shrine for Hummus, the most famous humus joint in Jaffa. It is located on Hadolphin st. and it is a must stop for every visitor. Try the divine Masabaha or the traditional Hummus with Phool.
For Israeli cuisine try Jericho in the Greek Market. Fine dining with a real taste of the modern Israeli cuisine.
Best hamburger in Jaffa is served at Urbano, on Oley Zion st. The also have live music gigs by local musicians.
Fancy a beer on the pavement in the middle of the action? Than Beer Bazar is the place for you. Dozens of craft beers served in a casual and happy place on Oley Zion st.
In Jaffa port there is a fantastic Fish and Chips joint who serves fresh fish from the local fish market. Perhaps the best meal you can get for about 50 NIS.
For a great desert, the ultimate place is The Malabya in the Flea Market. Malabi is a Turkish desert and this cool place makes it to perfection. Sit outside, enjoy your desert and coffee in the middle of the market.
The beautiful sunsets are free…
Enjoy Jaffa!
