The cruise boats “used to” frequently visit Santorini @Serafeim , and of course the Caldera was where they sailed in and dropped anchor then you would see the smaller boats, one after tender another, with passengers heading to the very steep cliffside to either take the cable car (wise) or climb up the Karavolades Stairs on foot (unwise) or on one of the poor donkeys (very unwise) to reach the top.

Jumping in here I know but there’s lots to see and do in Santorini @Giu_DiB including wineries and beautiful beaches and I personally highly recommend a visit to the ancient archaeological excavation of Akrotiri which some believe to be the “Lost City of Atlantis”.

Hello @Giu_DiB thank you for this important tip! There is a lot to do and see in Santorini. We have many experiences to do around the island but also many things to see. Starting from Volcano, wineries, hot springs, black beach, red beach, ancient city excavations and much more. If you come over let me know so I’ll be able to assist you for anything you might have in your mind and more…

Yes, you are right @AdamGT And indeed the most unwise, I agree, is to jump on a poor donkey. You know… donkeys are not getting so tired from going up and down the steps. What is the worse in all this story is how their bosses treat them. They let them stay under the sun cause they don’t care about having a shelter, they don’t feed them and water them enough during their staying at the old port and the poor animals refuse to walk and there comes the savage behavior when they wipe them to move on. I’m really frustrated with all this story. But again there are always donkeys owners that make the best for them. I’m kinda of a godfather to my neighbors donkey. I feed her with carrots and apples and her owner cannot believe how much in love she is with me that when I just wave my hand to her, she runs like a horse to my site
