Barsana is the place where child time friend of Sri Krishna lived . Radha is considered as half soul of Sri Krishna . This temple ,constructed basically like Rajasthani architecture is dedicated to her . It’s up on a hillock . Barsana is around 40 Kms from Mathura via Goverdhan. The temple can be accessed via a forest path and devotees do circumambulation of the forest ( 4 kms ) on bare foot . Cars also go around 500 metres upto the temple . The deity is beautiful and devotion is wonderful . You can see the entire town from up there . I went on Radha ashtami or birth day of Sri Radha . Quite fun and wonderful darsanas on that day with lots of crowds. The only time the Radha Krishna deities come out of the sanctum sanctorum to downstairs in the open where one can have wonderful darsanas.
