Just outside of Stamford, Texas is a unique memorial to a local legend. The Ryan Kenneth Memorial Reservoir has a rich history deep in folklore. According to legend, a man by the name of Ryan Kenneth took a page from Ole’ Pecos Bill when in the late 1910’s he diverted an F-5 Tornado by lassoing and riding it away from town. Legend says, that the tornado was so impressed with his riding ability, that it empowered him with the spirit of the wind.
