The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de la Valldigna

A worthy valley for a monastery of your religion, say the legend that King Jaume II, impressed by the beauty of the valley, told the abbot of Santes Creus, who in turn responded: Lord, worthy valley. And this is how the king granted the lands for the foundation of the monastery, which was founded in 1298 in a valley that would be called since then Valldigna, known by the Muslims as the Valley of Alfándec. The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de la Valldigna is in the Cistercian style. It was inhabited until the year 1835, when the confiscation of Mendizábal took place. In any year 1991 it will be acquired by the Generalitat Valenciana, which will begin the restoration. Since then it has become a cultural center of reference and point of sentimental union of all the Valencians.

Hi BorriS.
Thank you for the welcome, I am learning to move in this community.
I am passionate about tourism, in my study we make tourist websites. I think this community will like me.
We are designed a tourist APP in Simat de la Valldigna. They allowed us to access the first floor of the building to take the picture.

Thanks for the information, I will read it carefully.
I have a lot to learn

Hi Nyainurjanah,
the monastery is located in a magical valley. Surrounded by orange groves and very close to the Mediterranean Sea.
The photograph is from two weeks ago. We are working in the area. Although it has tourism it is a very quiet place.
