The Romance of Venice

Venice, a place like no other; tiny islands connected by footbridges and canals. There are no cars just boats and people moving from one romantic place to another. And even those who live and work here, they enjoy travel by water taxi. There are so many sites to see here and walking will be enjoyed and rewarded as there are many fine places to stop and eat! But, do take at least one gondola ride as to see Venice this way is to see it like a true Venetian - savoring life slowly and fully!

Hello @ourtown1 , thank you for sharing your post and so nice photo of the Grand Canal in Venice. I agree as Italian I would recommend to everyone to visit at least once the beautiful Venice and enjoy the most romantic tour with the Gondola. The small village of Murano is also a very interesting place to visit and assist to the famous Murano Glass created by passionate artisans around the street of the village

I too went there. On my first trip I brought back a hand painted vase. Carried it across Europe, safely like it was my child. It made it all the way to the states in one piece. Last visit there was 2013. This time I brought home a few necklaces and earrings but sat for a presentation on glass blowing. Just an amazing art that abounds on the tiny island. I also made time for lunch along the canal there. What a joy!
