The Road to the Sky of South Korea, Mt. Halla

If you visit Jeju Island, you have to go to Mt. Halla.

Mt. Halla is located in the middle of Jeju Island and is a beautiful place with four seasons of changing scenery.

So, it is loved by many people who visit Jeju Island.

Mt. Halla’s hiking course is diverse.

You can select the course you want and go up the course that suits you.

Halla Mountain National Park website: http://www.jeju.go.kr/hallasan/index.htm

If you go in here, it’s detailed, so please refer to it.

I used the Seongpanak Trail to climb Mt. Halla.

[Halla Mountain Climbing Course: Seongpanak Course]

Seongpanak Tourist Site → jindallae field → The top course of 9.6km

This is the longest course among the tour route to Mt. Halla, which takes about 3 hours for the jindallae field, also four hours and a half to the top.

It is a good course to feel Mt. Halla, which can climb to the top crater.

If you have time, try the Seongpanak course.

Mt. Halla is a relatively difficult and time-consuming mountain.

If you’re going to climb, it’s better to go up in the morning.

I started climbing the mountain at 8 a.m.

Starting from the Seongpanak management office, it’s generally a gentle slope to the entrance of the Sogbat to the summit of the Jindallaebat shelter and the entrance to the Seongpanak area. It’s not too hard, but it can be very hard physically walk 19.2 kilometers back and forth.

I breathed hard, I took a short rest, and then I went up to the top.

If you go up to 600m along the road leading to Saraoreum, 5.8km from the trail, there is a Saraoreum Observatory where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Sanjung Lake and Mt. Halla.

Another beauty of Jeju Island unfolds in front of you.

Seongpanak Trail is mostly formed into a forest, except for the top of Baekrokdam, so it’s probably the best place to enjoy the forest bathing.

You can enjoy mountain climbing with the healthy energy of the trees.

Also, when I climb up the mountain, I can see the surrounding Jeju Island oreums

It’s like it makes you feel the mystery of the volcanic island.

You can also enjoy the animals and plants of Mt. Halla such as the white-backed woodpecker, roe deer, and badger, etc.

When you climb up a summer’s climb, water is a must.

There was water that I brought from my house, but it was not enough.

So I bought two more bottled water from Jindalaebat shelter. lol

(Drinking water can be obtained from the spring of Sogbat and the Saraoreum.

The higher we got to the top, the higher the difficulty was.

If you’re physically fit, I’d like to recommend you the Seongpanak course, because the Seongpanak course requires more physical consumption.

I’m physically fit too, but… it was hard. OTL

You can see it in a mysterious crater at the top of Baengnokdam.

It’s grand, gorgeous, and just looks at it without saying a word.

It’s made up of oval craters, and it’s got water all the way through every day.

There’s a legend that some of the good old folk drank from the white deer here.

There’s an alpine plant growing around the snow-tree vine.

The mysterious crater makes one’s own admiration.

I felt like I was completely forgotten. lol

It is a difficult course. But the course can see the beautiful scenery of Jeju Island.

Therefore, If you come to Mt. Halla, I think it’s a good course to try.
