The Medeu ice rink, located at an altitude of 1691.2 meters above sea level, is known throughout the world. It was built in 1972. I am not going to talk about this sport- complex. This post is visited on the dam, more precisely how to get to the dam. The mudflow dam Medeu has located 25 km from the city of Almaty at an altitude of 1733 meters above sea level. It was erected to protect the city from the mudflow formed on the tops of the Western Tien Shan. There are two ways to get to the dam: by car or on foot. The most interesting, memorable and active way is the second, i.e. it is a staircase consisting of 842 steps.
From the Medeu ice rink to the beginning of the stairs it is necessary to climb up the path about 500 meters. On the way, you can see how the river flows - pure cold mountain water.
You will also meet the pigeons (if you want to feed them).
The width of the stairs is about 100-120 cm, it is difficult to overtake a person, and the stairs are not evenly built (in winter snow and very slippery). When you climb you feel the pressure of the atmosphere dropping, breathing becomes more frequent, sweating, thirsty and hungry, but if you look around … such beauty … mountains, trees, wildlife, an incredibly beautiful landscape, clean air, silence and away from the bustle of the city. It would be nice if you could get here before sunrise. And when you see the sun coming out between the mountains and you have a breathtaking, in a moment you stop and forget about everything, get energy from the sun, begin to communicate with nature, new fresh thoughts and ideas are born, gain strength, in general, there appears another “I”.

The emotion that I receive in this place can be enumerated endlessly. It is better to see with own eyes once than to hear a hundred times. But people who cannot travel to another country, a city, i.e. to a new place, have a good opportunity to watch them on the Internet and use different programs. Among them, one of the best programs is Google Maps and my main reason for using this program is to exchange information with an unlimited number of people regardless of whether they are friends or not. My best option is to write a review. I leave feedback based on my experience, where I was, what I used, and what emotions I felt.
