If you’re a tennis fan you will most likely watched the spectacular Australian Opens 2022 men’s singles final yesterday where the Spanish, Rafael Nadal, amazingly coming back from two sets down to win in five, won his history-making 21st major title by defeating the Russian, Daniil Medvedev (world number two), in an amazing 5+ hours final. A mind-blowing, superhuman achievement from a 35- year old!!! At 35, and after a few hours, I thought Nadal would get tired. I certainly did lol. But Nadal, was amazing and won the match in classic style. Is time running out for the 40-year old Swiss, Roger Federer, and the 34-year old Serbian, Novak Djokavic, in the race for history?
Did you watch this thriller not in Manila but in Melbourne, Australia yesterday and if so what do you think?
I was only able to watch the highlights from the match. Both played well…I wasn’t surprised that Nadal won. However, if Djokovic had not been deported, there would have been a different outcome!
Yes it was a great and exciting match to watch. For me it was so late here and I waited and waited for Nadal to come out and be interviewed but, after 5.5 hours slogging it out in a titanic battle with Medvedev, he just spent so much time on that gym bike recovering that I ended up falling asleep lol.
I wouldn’t call myselfa Tennis fanatic Sagir, but I love watching the elite champions of course and I love to have a hit myself. When not away, nearly every day I have a coffee at least twice each day on the tennis court and just took this pic for you during my morning coffee Should you visit, we will definitely have hit

Que dicha la tuya @AdamGT ! Que genial que hayas podido ir a un evento de este calibre, gracias por compartir un poco en connect!
Un abrazo amigo, saludos.
I wasn’t at all sure about sharing this here on Connect @Chuytorres-alc as I had no idea on how popular tennis was among the Community. I’ve posted before about big sports events like the F1 Grand Prix but with only lukewarm response.
I have to say @dyerfamily that I totally agree with you and I too was surprised that Nadal won as Medvedev was playing brilliantly as he often does and as he did when he beat Djokovic in the U.S. Open final. Yes it certainly may have been a different outcome had “the Joker” been playing.
Medvedev has certainly entered his prime and one to watch but Nadal is one of those superhuman champions. A true warrior and I love watching him play. As @Gezendunyali says, it was a breathtaking match
