The purpose of my post is multiple like many other guides. Information on trips and what I think about the prices of food and motels and hotels.
But I’m flexible that I will sleep at waysides and buy my food at grocery stores.Example on my trip to the Arctic Ocean I had 2 flats (same tire) had it patched at one location and plugged at another. At the second place I slept in my Subaru Forester. Now on the way back to Inuvik I stayed at a hotel $200.00 Canadian ,$180.00 American. Lot of money to me ,but the same amount I save by sleeping in my vechicle. I can pay for gas, oil change ,food.And rotate my tires at a wayside. Then when I stay at hotel because I want a hot shower and meal I’m not counting change and stressing over money. Because if something major happens engine problems or a blown tire I should have ample money in reserve to pay.
