The Purpose in being a Local Guide

Almost everybody has an opinion on what’s around us and which place is the best in the plethora of experiences around us. What if there was a way to get everyone to collaboratively post information that is crucial for any purpose? When people share information on local guides, it is usually very helpful. Knowing that a flower store nearby is open until 11 p.m helps a husband who has forgotten to get his wife an anniversary gift (Yes, life is just moving that fast). Before you call that a cliche’, know that cliches have come to be because there is a great deal of repetition of such incidents in many people’s lives. Almost every man’s life is a template, we were born, we went to school, we had some form of higher education (or not), we go to work, we find a partner, we have children of our own, we grow old, we retire from work, we realize that life may not really have a point or purpose very close to the end. But then, there are the countless lives we touch, the many experiences that we have shared not just with our limited social circle but also the lives of those whom we may never meet or know. As a local guide, we have a higher purpose, we educate, inform and share insights on what is a good experience at a particular place on our little floating ball of water and mud. Our existence is indeed a short one in the great scheme of things, we all want to leave our mark on this planet. Most humans have lived unfulfilled lives, while a select few have led extraordinary lives with their sparkling achievements. Sadly though, most of us aren’t extraordinary. But, there is hope, our contributions on local guides can be useful to our fellow man and if this is not serving a higher purpose, then I don’t know what else could be. Long after I’m gone, my contributions will continue to help people who come to the same places that I have been to and my information will be of at least, some small assistance.
