The perfect Gift

What do you think a small boy would like to find under the Christmas tree as a gift?
Lego?

City ?Technic? Ninjago?

After a few months the lego will look like in my pictures?
Tape-Measure and the drills are set as a visual landmark.

Creator ? Juniors ? Classic ? Minecraft ?

Tablet?

Wooden toys handmade by a missed engineer?

Any dog?

after a month the dog will stay with the toys?

after a while the tablets will be good only to see the reflection of the fir ?

Which of them will fascinate the boy the most ?
I expect answers and clarifications to my questions, from moderators I expect guidance

My feeling is that the young boy would love to find a tablet, @To_paul .

But from my point of view, we need to reverse the story: a gift is just an object, the use of the object depends of who gives the present. A young boy need guidance from the parents and the community, to use the gift for growing up.

So all of them can be perfect, or totally wrong.

Usually my gift to my nephews, when they were young girls, was a book. Now, one of them is an IT engineer, teaching on the university. The younger one is studying on the university.

Both love to read

@To_paul I think a dog would do. What do you think?

@Nyainurjanah a bit difficult, almost all kids want a Ferrari.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your honest answer

Some time ago a child of about 8 years old @ErmesT told me to help him send a letter to Santa.
I read the letter, the child did not want any Christmas gift.
He was asking Santa to send his mother a tablet PC. Because his mother used the boy’s PC tablet too much.

The boy had received a PC tablet from an uncle at the birthday party.
The boy was allowed to use a tablet PC for only twenty minutes, during which time the boy was playing RTS.
Then the boy’s mother played a game of colored balls for as long as she wanted.
The boy observed, analyzed the situation and concluded that if his mother also had the tablet he could play more on his tablet.

Probably if the boy was getting a book he would be allowed to read all day.

Very nice question @To_paul , and very difficult answer, especially for the perfect gift.

I agree with @ErmesT that most kids nowadays would like to find a tablet however I don’t really like that although I’m a IT engineer and IT super passionate (so I would love all kind of IT things in my first person hehe). I normally prefer to have handy toys where you can stimulate your fantasy like I was doing in my childhood.

My eldest daughter likes table and board games which I find fantastic because it will allow interaction and thinking with the friends which an electronic game wouldn’t (btw we do have some as well but I do limit their usage).

I think @PaulPavlinovich would love that huge mountain of Lego hehe, isn’t it?

A very Merry Christmas to all your family!

I abstain @Austinelewex @Ant_Bad_Yogi
Considering that the dog is friends with the man since Paleolithic I do not want to disappoint the dogs.

This is an interesting point, perfect for a meditation about the new boys, @To_paul , and how for many adults the technology is a way to move them back to the childhood.

My toys were pieces of wood, that I used to assemble like Lego, and the first thing that I did in my phone, and on my desktop, was to uninstall all the games :slightly_smiling_face:

Reading (and writing) has always been my passion, together with Traveling.

Thank you for this Christmas post.

I didn’t mentioned the dog, because I can’t consider the dog a gift

Hahahaha @To_paul a nice wish from the boy to Santa. When I was a boy I dislike reading as well. I loved playing video (Play station) games alot which my parents disliked. It was hell in a cell experience for me because My siblings and I would never allow my dad to come back and see us playing play station. We never played freely.

very good guidance @LuigiZ

I appreciate some of the technology, I also own an old Z80 clone.
Dice board games for kids are very fun, especially if the dice are used.
I photographed a small part of the lego bricks, just the tip of the iceberg
yet I have a question, if the child stays home alone with the tablet how can a parent find out if the child has played longer than allowed?
I am referring here to a parent who does not have IT knowledge.

Thank you very much
Happy holidays with joys and accomplishments with your loved ones!

Come back with details @ErmesT
The dog came to the toys when I was trying to take pictures,

he probably smelled the boy impregnated in toys and was waiting for him to play together
The dog lives with the boy’s grandmother, the boy also comes there.

Initially I didn’t want to put the dog in the post, but the Google Photos algorithm automatically stylized the photo with the dogs and wooden toys.
It also matters the choice of Google in my post.
For this reason I improvised and added another picture with the dog and introduced it in the post
I know that all children want to have as many puppies at home
I also read, but I don’t write much.
And now I buy many printed books, but I rarely read them.

Thank you very much and I wish you nice trips to new areas

@Austinelewex many parents consider that they know what is best for the children, sometimes they intervene too much in the child’s choices and activities.

Thank you very much

Hahahaha @To_paul “I am referring this to parents who doesn’t have IT knowledge”. I am still thinking. It is not an excuse, they should LEARN. By the way learning never stops.

Thanks a lot @To_paul , and a very good question hehe, difficult nowadays as we should deal with everything, making mistakes and always learn and be present and responsible.

Wish you too a wonderful holiday season with all your beloved ones as well!

P.S. I started playing with an Amiga and got as first “IT” present a Commodore 64 where I learned programming in Basic ;-).

Excellent post. Very interesting and exciting. A lot of constructor. A lot of legos. Hurrah. The dream of any child. Tablets become obsolete lego - eternal. Recently I was in Lego. There, children can play the constructor for money.
