The People's Cafe

A good choice to enjoy Indonesian street food in a modern ambiance. The People’s Cafe also provide another Asian and Western food. Restaurant and cafe under Ismaya Group are never fail me :slightly_smiling_face:

I recommend this place for us having lunch. Even my best friend from San Fransisco loves the Indonesian food here.

Here are what we tried :

Garlic Fries (IDR 28,000)
Let’s begin with the side dish first. It is said on the menu book : french fries topped with roasted garlic and parsley. However, in a real serving, we couldn’t find the roasted garlic. There was no taste of garlic at all. Luckily, we still enjoy the crispy and thick french fries.

Ayam Geprek Sambal Matah (IDR 55,000)
This is the BEST & RECOMMENDED!
White rice served with crispy boneless fried chicken and Balinese typical spicy sambal matah.

Salted Egg Dori (IDR 55,000)
A bowl of white rice, fried battered dory with mild taste of salted egg yolk sauce, curry leaves, sliced red chili, half fried sunny side up egg. The soy sauce and chili are served separately. Don’t forget to eat the fried dory with a little bit soy sauce and chili.

Mie Goreng Tek-Tek (IDR 48,000)
This menu is recommended by The People’s Cafe and also some Foodies. Even my best friend who was longing for Indonesian food loves this kind of street food!
Fried egg noodle serves with fried egg, chicken, vegetables, pickles, and kerupuk.

Hi @Velvel ,

Thanks for sharing these photos with us. Everything looks pretty delicious! I haven’t tried Indonesian food before, but now I’m craving to try all of these. Yummy!

Is this a popular place there? Do you often go there? Which is your favorite dish?

Hello @Velvel ,

Thank you for the detailed description and the great photos, everything seems so tasty!

I’m not a huge french fries fan, but when it comes to the rest I would love to taste each one of these meals.

As a person who never had any Indonesian food in his life, which one of these meals would you recommend to start with?

PS: I love kerupuk, especially the prawn one.

I love Indonesian food! Your pictures are mouthwatering

Halo @Velvel ,

Hai @AngieYC
