"Cooking is all about people. Food is maybe the only universal thing that has the power to bring everyone together. No matter what culture, everywhere around the world, people get together to eat " Guy Fieri says This famous quote always inspires me. My great infatuation in trying different kinds of food always lead me to discover various international cuisines. The traditional cuisine is the initial attraction that draws my attention to the culture of a certain country. Through food you can discover more about the different people’s cultures. Either a cheap Beans sandwich eaten on food cart at the river Nile shore in Egypt or a luxurious dinner in a world class restaurant in the Champs Elysees, the magic of the place as well as the food taste can grant you an everlasting memory.

European, Asian, African, or Arabian food?

I firmly believe that the different taste and how delicious it is being the two criteria that attract me the most towards a specific dish. Here you will find my evaluation to 4 of the most popular dishes in 4 different areas around the world.

Europe: Fondue Swiss Cheese.

It is one of the most popular Swiss dishes. The secret behind this unique flavor of cheese is the special ingredients of Swiss cheese with apple juice, garlic, salt, starch, and pepper. Such ingredients take you away to the beauty of the enchanting Swiss countryside and it will cost you just around 30$.

Asia: Tom Yum Thai Soup

This soup is a great source of proteins, phosphorus, and minerals as it includes sea food and fish besides some vegetables and herbs. Such a mixture gives you the unique flavor of the Thai cuisine, medium bowl of this rich and yummy soup in average eatery might be less than 10$.

Malaysian satay with peanut sauce

Malaysian famous dish satay with peanut sauce is one of the famous dishes around Malaysia and you can find it anywhere you go not even in Malaysia but in Singapore or Indonesia too, everyone has his own secret recipe for preparing it , you can grill chicken parts, wings or beef, they mix lemongrass with ginger , garlic and onion with some salt and special herbs and soak the chicken on it for a while then grill it on charcoal then serve it with peanut sauce. This traditional meal might cost around 6$.

Africa: Egyptian Koshari

Koshari is the most popular Egyptian dish. It’s cheap and healthy and I guess this is the secret key behind its wide popularity. Koshari consists of lentils, rice, macaroni, fried onion rings, tomato hot sauce, and peas. The dish is apparently full of carbohydrates but it delicious taste can make you forget your daily diet for a while. A meal of koshari won’t cost you more than 2$ in Cairo.

Arabian Cuisine: Emirati Harees

Although it is made of very simple ingredient, Harees is the most famous dish in the Gulf area. It simply consists of wheat, onion, and minced meat. In the UAE, it has a special flavor with adding some Indian spices. Chicken can be used instead of the minced meat as well. This dish takes 24 hours to be cooked well. It is served with some natural ghee, salt, and black pepper. If you want to try it in a middle class restaurant in Dubai, it may cost you not more than $7.

The 4 food experiences were amazing and reveal to me a lot about the culture of the four countries. As Guy Fieri says " Food is not just eating. It is an experience."
