It´s not very often heard today, but for a long time Buenos Aires used to be known as the Paris of South America. In the early 20th century people here in Buenos Aires were in love with Europe. Today you can still find a lot of that influence from Italy, England, France and Spain on the street.
Many buildings were design by European architects, and almost all the materials came by ship from Europe too.
Some places are always open to the public, others have guided tours available and some are open just on specific occasions, so I always try to take any opportunity to visit them. However if they are closed, they are still worth the visit just to take a look at their facade.
Here are some examples:
San Martin´s palace is now the foreign affairs headquarters. It´s a French Style palace that was build by the Anchorena family in 1905.
Grand Splendid is the name of the theater that was built in 1919 and now hosts a bookstore.
Colon Theater is a world famous opera house not only by it´s acoustics but also by it´s architecture.
I love classic buildings . By sharing their photos I hope tourists and locals get the chance to know them. I really expect those who see my pictures or comments to enjoy the city as much as I do. I share my good and bad experiences with the world to make my contribution for a better society.
If you are planning to come, please try my Google´s map list: https://goo.gl/maps/xsH91CsrqkZg8ENc9 . If you ever been to Buenos Aires, I hope you agree with my list.
I´ll appreciate your comments and suggestions.
