A palace made from a Massive stone you will never forget !?
A way from my house for about a 46 KM westward , a 35 KM from center Amman the Capital to the west , in a city called Iraq Al Ameer where the Palace of the Slave there calling you to visit.
Iraq Al Ameer, ( عراق الأمير ) is a City belongs to Amman region , means in Arabic ( the city that full of caves ) formulated naturally. Iraq Al Ameer surrounded with a stunning scenery from a nature by its forest trees and other fruits trees like Olives, Pomegranate, and figs, so it’s a city for tourism where you can see a tourism groups a local people trips, and the natural springs, and the running water throughout the year. If you look at the mountains around the city ( Iraq Al Ameer ) , you can also notice a number of a natural caves, and grottos. Iraq Al Ameer, is a very ancient city dates back of a year 350 BC, when the Ammonites folks settled there with their prince of Tobya.
The story of the Slave: !
The legend story going by the tales of people which shows that it’s not totally true and it’s doubtful !. There were a brave and powerful prince who lived with his beautiful daughter in the region, before thousands of years. He decided to travel abroad of his City, he was afraid about his daughter to leave her alone. An Idea crossed his mind to aske his gallant slave ( servant ) to take care of his beautiful daughter and to keep her happy as usual. When the prince got absent too long his travel, the daughter lived miserable with a sever griefs and felt her father never come back again. She started to get around the slave thinking to consider him the only one who will love her and keep her in a protection. They got married !. Because she is a princess, the Slave respected her high value life and built her the ( Palace of the Slave ) to keep her in a comfortable luxurious life. After a long back of years, the father prince came back suddenly, he looked down from the high hills and got shocked when saw the Awesome stone palace in his city thinking what happened. The Slave knew he swindled and betrayed his Prince that he didn’t save the prince’s daughter,then the slave killed himself in the Palace before the arrival of the brave prince to atone for his sin. That why it’s the Palace of the Slave which built by the Ammonites Slave Tobya.
The true story:
Seemingly, the Palace was built back in the Hellenistic era in the second century BC, ( i.e between 187 and 175 ) by prince Herchanus who linked to the Ammonites family of Tobya who settled the region before 5 thousands of years . He considered the palace to be a perfect place to spend the summer time in the beautiful nature with his family.

Description & Dimensions of the palace:
The palace was built in a rectangular shape from the white massive stones with a splendid carvings consists of two stories. It topped with a representation of a statues of Panthers, lions and eagles., as they stands for the power of the Ammonites state. It’s like a 40 meters LENGTH, 20 meters WIDE and 10 meters HIGH. When you look at the palace, it shows that it’s like a floating ship on a surface of a water and used to be surrounded by a trench filled with the water naturally. ! It has two doors to enter, one on the southern the second one on the northern. Although it’s a non complete construction, it’s still a symbol stands for a tourism and luxurious architecture of a time.
