Every full moon I admire this lovely neighbour of ours!
Yes not so pink but still a great shot @Onkar_Pandhare . You might also like these moon photos.
thanks for sharing
Beautiful!
Thanks @AdamGT
Thanks @mkanoria
Thanks @Josanne25
@Onkar_Pandhare Great capture. What camera and lens did you use?
Thanks @Thai_Ngh !! This is clicked by Canon SX50HS. Its a superzoom camera with a small sensor & 50x optical zoom. It doesnt give DSLR like picture quality but its good for bird watching
@Onkar_Pandhare I have Canon D70 and lens kit 70-250, my photos of the moon have black and white only, even no yellow like you . Need advices
@Thai_Ngh I had clicked the picture immediately after moon-rise. The moon is usually reddish in colour when it is near the horizon and become white as it rises through the night. I have also clicked pictures of moon with my 250mm kit lens and the photo comes out similar as yours.
Maybe the optics of the lens are different for Canon SX50HS & makes the moon appear slightly different in colour. A DSLR with a large sensor captures true life-like colours.
Here is an old picture i had clicked when the moon was nearest to the horizon in the evening. See how red it is!
@Onkar_Pandhare Thank you for your lecture, it’s very nice and helpful
Nice photo of the moon! How did you take this shot? Can you share details of your camera? I was also going to take a photo of the moon the other day, but completely forgot about it.
I think it’s nice to see how everyone sees the moon from where they are.
thanks! @DanniS The pictures of moon are clicked by Canon SX50HS. This is a small camera with an optical zoom of 50X (24mm to 1200mm) + additional digital zoom. Such cameras have small sensors & therefore long zoom lens can be accommodated in the camera body. An equivalent lens for a DSLR would be more than a metre long & very difficult to carry single-handedly.
& yes! I agree with your view about how people see the moon from where they are. See below side-by-side comparison of moon photos i clicked from 2 different places on earth. The left one is from Mumbai & the right one is from Amsterdam. You can see the patches marked by blue appear to be at different locations on the moon when we view from different places on earth. I find this awesome!
