The New Urban Park,Zaryadye.

Surely, you have heard of Moscow Kremlin and may have read about it through local guide @helga19 posts.

Today, I want to show you a new park adjacent to the kremlin and at the end, you might be convinced to visit it.

The Zaryadye Park

Zaryadye park has an long history behind it. It is located in what used to be an historic village and from

which it took its name.

You can further read about history of Zaryadye park on official website:

https://www.zaryadyepark.ru/en/history/

The main feature of the park is its facilities hidden under the landscape, while the park itself is divided into four climatic zones: forest ,steppe , tundra**,** and the floodplain . These zones are organized in terraces that descend from northeast to southwest, with each layering over the next to create a total of 14,000 square meters of enclosed, programmed spaces integrated into the landscape: nature and architecture act as one.

Visitors can enjoy a river overlook cantilevering 70 meters over Moskva River , media center, nature center, restaurant, market, two amphitheaters and a philharmonic concert hall.

Another advantage of the new park is a picturesque view of the Kremlin which visitors can enjoy from a floating bridge over the Moskva river

The Main Attractions at the Park… .

Floating bridge

The floating bridge is a thin air structure in the form of the letter “V” with a large outward extension above the water. It is a 70 meter structure without a single support. The bearing structure of the bridge is made of concrete and the decorative elements are made of metal and the deck is wooden.

Media Center

The Media Center covers an area of 8500 square meters. It exhibits Russian natural and architectural sights and covers various topics of the Russian history.

Ice Cave

The Ice Cave is stylized pavilion with an interactive exhibition which tells visitors about the history of development of the Russia Far North . In one part of the pavilion, a negative temperature is maintained. For the thickness of the ice, freezing of about 70 tons of water is required. During the day, the temperature in the ice cave remains above -2°C, and in the evening, it is above -5°C. The cover of the cave itself is a natural white colour.

The Concert Hall

The Concert Hall is a building under a glass dome with an organ and a stage-transformer and is a multifunctional concert venue. The building is set into the hill and it is possible to walk along its roof. Only the glass facade remains open.

Amphitheatre

The large Amphitheatre adjoins to the Philharmonic and it is covered with a dome, the so-called glass bark, to protect the audience from the rain. The amphitheatre is a stepped landscape design descending from the hill to the stage. The spots are made of wood. The paths between the rows are filled with small pebbles and become part of the drainage system. The amphitheatre organically fits into the natural landscape of the park. The large open amphitheatre in Zaryadye can accommodate 1500 spectators.

This looks like an amazing new park @Emmik20 I must say I love the bold decisions they took to built this modern park right next to historic buildings. This must have been a pretty expensive project.

Hi @Erik_van_den_Ham . I have heard of the park for sometimes now. I visited the Nigeria embassy in the Moscow recently and just took the opportunity to visit the park.

The old Rossiya Hotel on the previously on the site was demolished and president felt it would better to turn the area to a park. Sure , the project is expensive . Fortunately , the Russian Government could afford it. Even now lot of renovation works are ongoing in the city.

Hi @helga19 . The park is very beautiful . The last time I visited Kremlin was 5 years ago. I watched the commissioning of the park on TV some years back and resolved to check it out last week. I am glad you like the post .

I have lived 10 years in Russia and now a Citizen.

Hi @Emmik20 are you originally from Nigeria? If you don’t mind me asking how many years are you living in Russia now?
Yes it’s great such a magnificent park is created. Parks in urban spaces are very important and highly undervalued still. These are places for contemplation and to get in touch with nature. These ‘green’ spots are places of healing away from the hectic of city life.

This year will make it 10 years of living in Russia.

It is an interesting country , It is huge country that span different Geographics zone. I dream of traveling through the country from Saint Petersburg to Vladivostok.

I agree with you .Staying close to nature is healthy.

Moreso , I grow up in a suburb . Where we are surrounded by trees .

I feel comfortable living in an area where there are parks and gardens. And Ufa is a typical example of a green city.

Thank you for the info @Emmik20 that must have been quite a change from Nigeria to Russia.

Hi @Erik_van_den_Ham My journey from Nigeria to Russia is lengthy story. Then I was younger and ambitious. So when the opportunity to go study in Russia came I didn’t hesitate. I just jumped into it.

Overall, it is a positive experience.

That is so good to hear @Emmik20 nothing wrong with being ambitious. If life offers you chances you need to embrace them.

You got me curious again, what did you study? Learning Russian it must have been for sure I guess?

Hi @Erik_van_den_Ham I studied chemical engineering in Nigeria.

Then in Russia , post graduate in economics and in heat process technology. I am done with education.

Russian is an interesting language to learn. Initial it was challenging but after a while I gradually caught up with the language.

Hi @Emmik20

This is a nice post.

It is written in a fast-paced tone almost like the Commentators of a Soccer Match.

I have reached the end, even before I could drink in the sight!

It is a beautiful place indeed.

My favorite structures are the floating bridges, the roof you can walk on and the Ice Cave…

I want to visit. @Emmik20
