THE MOST INTERESTING THING I'VE EVER DONE AS A LOCAL GUIDE;SHARING MY CAPETOWN VISIT

Touching down at CapeTown International Airport in the cold winter, the beautiful landscapes mixed with the road networks ushered my drive to Glee Cottages, Plumstead where I was going to spend my nights for the next two weeks. From the aerial view of the town prior to landing, it was obvious I was in for a great time. I visited the Maynard Mall in Wynberg, V&A Waterfont on Dock Road. The view of the boats gliding over the water while my mouth got buried in some delicious seafood was intoxicating. This spot is home to restaurants, malls, museum and a historic harbour. Your kids will surely enjoy taking a ride in The Cape Wheel. I did myself. I cannot forget my visit to Robben Island. It was insightful and touching to be in such a historic place where men who paid the sacrifice for freedom lived. The stories told by our tour guide who happened to be a former inmate himself was real, compelling and tear provoking. I acknowledge the great work done in preserving such a historic location. The Muizenberg Beach, Boulders Penguin Colony, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, Canal Walk Shopping Centre are all great places to be. Oh! I forgot the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Home to all manner of plants, shrubs and trees. The view of the hills kissing the clouds and the feel of mother nature cannot be forgotten in a hurry. This spot is a must for botanists and every lover of nature. Writers will have a good time fetching from the well of inspiration in the environment. The crux of my visit was the people. It was beautiful meeting people from another part of the world and learning about their culture, listening to their communication, and seeing different skin colours relate with one another in peace. I look forward to visiting again, and this time the Table Mountain would be my first stop.

Hi @Femi_Blaze ,

If you’re applying to Connect Live 2020 make sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompt. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 here.

P.S. I will relabel your post to Local Stories, because the criteria for the Connect Live 2020 applications is to post your content there.

Thank you for the correction VasT, is there any other action I have to take?
