As a 64 year old tour guide the most riveting objective of my job is the fact that I can connect people from countries over the world with my culture. The pure joy and pride you feel knowing that people take an interest towards something you are so passionate about is a feeling I cannot comprehend. Through my field of work I have managed to connect people from all around the world with culture and knowledge; not only that, I’ve been able to connect people with their lineage. Around 2 years ago a gentleman from Chennai, India had hand written directions to a business office shop in Karachi, in Seth Goverdhandas Mohatta piece goods market , which he came looking after 71 years. I managed to lead the gentleman around the market to find the exact location of where his fathers’ shop was located. His father was alive at the time and the gentleman quickly called his father to tell him the joyous news about the findings of his old shop. My job as a tour guide has always brought light into my life and stories/experiences like these really warm my heart and make me love what I do.
