Whenever I get to a new place, I look for it information on google maps to see the photos of the place, the photos of the food or read some reviews.
As a local guide the most interesting thing I have done is create the location on google maps for new businesses.
The first time I did it was for a small restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I organize all their information including phone numbers, web site and the first pictures of them were the ones I took it. The second time I did was to a Venezuelan restaurant opened in Glendale, California. The owner was very happy and grateful because I did that for them. Every time I go to the restaurant they remind me and call me “the Google girl”
The feeling of knowing that my grain of sand helps start new businesses is rewarding. I will keep looking for new places to add to google maps so that they can integrate their business into the online world. Google maps is a wonderful tool to obtain all the information we need about places, traffic and everything related to where we are.
