I live in a city by the lake and River side called Bahir Dar, Ethiopia .
And my home is about 20 minutes walk to the source of Blue Nile River and about 15 minutes walk to Lake Tana which is the largest lake in Ethiopia. The lake has about 37 islands and 21 of them have old monasteries founded 12th and 16th century. I do get my inspiration for my paintings from this old monasteries mural paintings. And I love doing tour guiding to this place. In addition to the islands of the lake we have the beginning of Blue Nile River and we have hippopotamus there.
My city Bahir Dar is rewarded by UNESCO 2002 one of the clean and beautiful cities of the world. It has a wide street and side walks along with the palm trees. Whenever I walk around the city, I do take pictures of different activities and try to list new business to Google maps , cause I know that can help tourists and other local community to get information easier. And wherever I move out of my city I do prefer using Google map to walk around the new location that I never been before.
In general Iām happy to share my experience and to introduce what we have in our city and country .
Thanks .
