The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide: Sharing Thoughts with People from Thousands Miles Away!
Hello ppl,
First of all, I’d like to introduce myself. I’m Yagmur -means rain in Turkish- I’ve graduated from interior architecture and continued my master’s in History and Theory of Architecture. Currently I’m doing PhD in the same field.
I always liked travelling, Maybe it’s because of the habit I’ve seen from my parents. We used to travel with my parents from East to West in Turkey. So I’m continuing that tradition as long as I can.
While I’m travelling, the most beautiful thing for me is to share what I’m seeing. Comparing my thoughts and feelings with ppl, creating new memories and strengthen the connection.
I’ve met with Google Local Guide three years ago thanks to a friend . And ever since I’m trying to use it actively.
But, why I like being a Local Guide?
- I love the idea of knowing that there are people from all over the world hearing my voice.
- I trust people’s opinion and I care about it. For most of the cases, I don’t act before I check the experiences. So, if it’s that important for me why wouldn’t I be a participant. That’s how I motivate myself.
- When I like or don’t like something about a place/food/area/facility/service I used to feel an urge to share my thoughts with the responsible, to appreciate them or to let them know what is missing. I’m continuing that behaviour but I’ve added to let people know on top of it. It’s everyone’s right to hear the things from the people that don’t seek benefit and get caution according to that.
So…
More or less this is my story about how I join the Local Guides. It keeps me connected with people, updated about the things and motivated to see the new things.
Yagmur.
