My friend has a business that had been going on for years, however he did not know that google maps is an effective advertising platform. I knew for a fact that google maps will attract many people if the page is attractive and informative. So I decided to help him out by correcting the phone number associated to his business, and update the working hours. I also added many photos and a video to his place, one of these photos is now my most viewed! He could not guarantee that this was the reason, however he did notice an uptick in visitors to his cafe. And people started calling him for the first time to ask him about the place before visiting.
