Fortunately for me just Yesterday Evening,i Received the Biggest Interesting Part of my Awesome Contributions i have ever made on the Google Maps. What really happened is that am a Professional Driver and i usually Drive my Boss to one of his Membership Club in Ibadan City,Nigeria Called (Omo Ajorosun Club) and as a Local Guide,i Realized that the Club was not on the Map. I made an Effort to Add the Name of the Club with their Pictures and Videos to the Google Maps but i Summoned the Club’s Staff to give me their Manager’s Contact Number so that i can Add it to their Newly Formed Location on the Maps. They were Reluctant to give me their Manager Contact Number due to the Insecurity going on in Nigeria. Even though i Explained to them that am Part of the Google Local Guide Team in which we help People to Add their Places to the Maps so that it will be Easier for their Customers to Locate them.
I Later put my Personal Contact Number to their Organisational Contact which i added for them about Four Months Ago.
The Interesting Part of my Experience is that just Yesterday Evening Dated 3 March 2020,i Received a Message on my WhatsApp Contact from the United State of America which Sent me a ‘Hello’ Message telling me he Saw my Contact Number from the Club’s Website.
The Man asked me if i was a Staff of the Club that he wanted to Join the Club Membership when he Comes back from the U.S. but i told him all my Stories about how i Help them Added the Club to the Maps and how they don’t give me their Manager’s Contact.
I was Really Pleased and so Glad when the Man told me that he has been Searching for the Club’s Contact for a Very Long Time. I told him that my Boss was a Membership of the Club and that i will help him to Make an Enquiry about how to Join the Club. I Later gave him my Boss Phone Contact which he Asked for and he Credited me so much for my Efforts to Add the Club to the Google Maps and also Assisting him to Finally Found what he has been Longing for. This Experience make it to be the Most Interesting Thing i’ve Ever done as a Google Local Guide and i will Never Relent my Efforts to Contribute and Improve the Google Maps to be the World’s Best Navigating Apps Ever.
