There was a day I was trying to take pictures of a store and I didn’t want the owner to know because here in Nigeria people are always kinda furious about taking pictures of their stores or shops because most people don’t know I’m just helping people to find their way, while I was about to take the picture of the store I forgot my flash was on so I took the picture and the man knew I was taking pictures of the store then he started chasing me
but guess what he caught me then I apologize and told him I was sorry and he asked me what do I want to use it for I told him about Google Map he didn’t believe me so I showed him pictures of places I have taken and my post on Google Map then he was amazed. So being a local guide has always been fun
Interesting @Becca9 but next time talk to them and explain yourself before taking the pictures. You might even be permitted to take more once they appreciate it’s for a good course.
On my personal experience, @Becca9 , I am mostly acting as suggested by @ljpappoe .
Hey, why you don’t have any photo on Google maps? Is for me a very common approach with the small business, and on the meantime I show that their business listing. Normally they are surprised, when you show them that others have a lot of photos. Do you want to show me the best corner for taking a few photos to add? is usually the next question. After that, they usually help me to choose the best photos.
BTW, a few business say NO. In this case, we must accept the NO, and leave, because we contribute for helping the business, not against the business.
Good luck for the next shots
Thanks@Ijpappoe will surely do that
Hi @Becca9 , if by any chance it is your application post to Connect Live 2020 (your title suggest that it is), please take a look in this part of the announcement post:
“Good Connect posts include a clear and attention-grabbing title, photos, and descriptive information about your topic. We recommend writing between 300 and 700 words. Here’s how to write a great Connect post for Connect Live 2020.”
So, it’d be a good idea to write a little bit more about your experience and add some photos.
Good luck!
I have the same experience haha, thank you @Becca9 you remind me that experience from 2015
