To be honest, I didn’t really have an answer to this question till…yesterday!
I’ve been thinking again and again WHAT can a local guide do NOW…when half of the population of our Planet is locked down…when the words we hear the most are “Self-isolation”, “Quarantine”, “Social Distancing”…
And then suddenly I though…of the others!
Of those, who have been working so hard to build something for all of us.
I’m talking about SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURS and SMALL LOCAL BUSINESSES.
Unlike other countries, the state of Ukraine, unfortunately, can not support them during these tough times.
And we are the only ones who can. Loyal customers, for whom they all have worked, tried, failed and tried again and again…
Most of the places like cafeterias, coffee shops and restaurants are still working for delivery and take away.
And I though…what is we have a party…but, on a safe distance!..And enjoy all those delicious meals all together, but without leaving our homes.
And being a LOCAL GUIDE is actually something that may help this idea come true!
So I organised a Saturday night dinner, for everyone from everywhere, because I think…it’s important.
It’s important to stay together
It’s important to not give up
It’s important to #stayathome
It’s important to SUPPORT…
Cause sooner or later, this all will be over.
We will be hanging out together again.
Will be having fun on Saturday nights out…
…But what if there are no more places we used to enjoy?
What if there are no friendly and warm cafes, restaurants and bars?
What if small business doesn’t survive?
…I’m thinking back of those time when there was no place and no opportunity for small business in my country and my city…and I never want it to happen again!
I see so many young people building a better future for the place I call home.
I see them creating new working places, investing into our economy, attracting tourists and letting them discover our beautiful land!
So the best thing I’ve done as a Local Guide so far…is thinking more and more about the others.
Is trying to support those who need our support now and helping people feel united and strong together!
