The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide: Sharing Unpopular Meaningful Places.
I always took pictures only for my own consumption. However, when I was looking for a direction from the Google Map, I accidentally found out that I can also contribute pictures and give reviews and ratings to the places I went to. I tried sending pictures from my cellular phone and give ratings/reviews from time to time. It is easy to do it.
At first, I was hesitant to contribute. I was weighing things for the pros and cons of the possible action I had to make. As one of the television network here in the Philippines says, “Think before you click”. Then, I was able to convince myself that there is nothing wrong sharing pictures for the good of other Google Map users. Subsequently, I decided to share photos to help other people, like me, who uses Google Map for directions or have a visual information of the location they wanted to go to.
Since then, as my cellular phone storage allows and there is an available free internet access, I contribute pictures to Google Map. Always, the pictures I share are ordinary places but meaningful to me. May the pictures I had shared helped other Google Map users and it extends the benefit/s to their families, relatives
