When I started receiving e-mails from the Local Guide program about my posts, I was first surprised but I just kept on posting, because I knew other people would like to get information I had about places I visited just as I would like to.
And I can say that it was quite satisfying receiving badges, getting to new levels and seeing how my photos and/or reviews were getting a lot of viewers and interactions (people asking more information, for example).
I think this the program is a great thing because there is a sense of commitment when being a local Guide- commitment to help others because we know how hard it can be to visit a place or even find it without having enough information. So far, my photos reached 288,119 people and I’m very happy about that, which means I potentially helped this many people.
What I liked best is a trip in Ivory Coast back in 2018, while visiting the touristic city of Assinie, I took this photo of one of the houses at the Zion hotel, photo which apparently got a lot of appreciation. The trip was memorable as much as the number of people who viewed it.
Just a few months before, I was again visiting Ivory Coast and I had the chance to see the beautiful basilica Our Lady of Peace, which is the world’s largest church and it was a pleasure for me to share a nice photo of it.
I like travelling a lot and I’m looking forward to other adventures and entries
