The most interesting thing I've done as a Local Guide – Making friend with another local guide

Hi! I am Jim Chiu, your level six local guide from Taiwan. The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide is making a friend with another Local Guide.

After being a Local Guide, I cultivate a habit of sharing my experience on google maps. Last month, I went to Kuala Lumpur and share my opinion on each spot and food as usual. When I came back to Taiwan, I received an email from another Local Guide, and she asked me to give her some suggestions for the trip in Kuala Lumpur. She thought my description is very clear and useful. I felt extremely accomplished when hearing her response to my comments. Then I gave her a lot of suggestions about traveling in Kuala Lumpur.

She also recommended some tasty restaurants and interesting spots in Taipei and we started to share our stories of being Local Guide. Subsequently, we became friends and started to discover delicious foods we both hadn’t sampled before and hung out together. She also helped me to film the video of Local Guide application. It’s really cool to make friends with the other local guide.

I’ve never thought that I am able to make such a good friend as being a local guide. By sharing, my favorite thing, I’ve got many surprises, such as fabulous night market snacks, amazing scenery of secret places and even make friends, which is totally beyond my expectation.

I’ll keep sharing more and more experiences for sure. I am really looking forward to meeting Local Guides from different countries and cultures around the world. I believe wherever we from, we are all willing to share our lives and keep exploring fascinating things. Maybe when you ask me what’s the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide next year, my answer will be – Joining the Connect Live 2020  .
