I have been exposed to different places because of my studies. The most interesting thing I have done as a local guide is Discovering places and Google maps made a significant impact by making my discovery simple.
Priyadharshani park My journey as a local guide started when I was doing my course in Dilshuknagar, Hyderabad. We used to get a lot of free time after the class. one evening I and my friends were off for some fresh air. we searched for parks near us, and we went there by walk.it is almost 2 KM. As we entered into the park we were awestruck as it is more than expected, the palm trees and stone sculptures And all kinds of plants and flowers.we were amazed. And there are no reviews which explain the tremendous scenery of the park and also about the entry fee.so I decided to keep my reviews in a detailed manner without even knowing about the local guides program.
Yati yummy Burgers Later I returned to my home town Kakinada, as usual, I started my reviews for different places, like there is a restaurant called Yati in our town at PadmaPriya Theatres and Complex, the food is really good and inexpensive there so I kept my reviews on foods for some days as our city is filled with those kinda famous foods. surprisingly I made friends with foreigners living in our city as they approached me for some help, then I made them view the Beauty of our city and we became friends and we started to share our skills and also they taught me music and added me in their band, the most loving thing in my life because of Google. Most of the concerts were in SRMT Mall, Kakinada SRMT Mall. We became good friends in no matter of time and it raised their spirit even been in a new place.
And also there is a school in my area Rayudupalem, which is not on google maps, even the building. and I went there to add that place. As I am standing near the gate for updating the location and the school staff felt awkward and asked me what I’m doing, I explained to them about the google maps and inturn they gladly gave me more info on the school. and I hope that its business will improve after being on the Google maps. and sure I’ll update my review after consulting them in a few years.
Though Discovering places and keeping reviews in a detailed manner may be a small action, it’s a good thing even if it helped a single person and also it can impact your life like mine by getting new friends and a new lifestyle. I’m thankful for the Google Maps for causing such impacts on many lives. Discovering places - and the impacts it had on my life - is the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local guide.
