The most interesting thing I've done as a Local Guide at Kedai Rawon Rahmanda

I was grateful to be to given an opportunity as a student and worker in this city. I’m living here since 2014, however, I knew about Google Local Guide in the last 2018.

Local Guide program has the same purpose as me. Contributing and helping many people are something I dreamed of all the time.

Thus, let me show you, the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide.
A few months ago, I came to my favourite restaurant in Bantul, Yogyakarta. It is named Kedai Rawon Rahmanda. But, I was disappointed because the restaurant was closed and there was a note in front of the door, it said the restaurant was moved near the ring road (in front of the University), then ok, I went there.
The food attendant welcomed me and apologized because they needed to move the place. Before I requested my order, I asked for permission to see if I could take some photos to upload on Google Maps and changed their location to the updated location. They were surprised because they had just known that everyone could change their own business.

They told me that they sold their foods on Go-food and Grab-food -Indonesia’s online application for food order-. They submitted the request since they moved their location, the request has not been accepted because of their location on Google Maps was still the same.

After I had my lunch, I checked my phone and there was a notification that my edit request -the location of Rawon Rahmanda Store- has been accepted and published. I told them if their location has moved. They were so happy and thanked me for that.

I think that I was just done a very simple thing. However, I didn’t realize that it was so mean to others. I was grateful and I felt like I was happy twice than the seller.

If someday you visit Kasihan, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta, you may visit this place, Kedai Rawon Rahmanda.

Hi @itsnaamaliatun

Welcome to Connect. And thanks for sharing. Have you had a chance to take a look at “Your guide at to connect.”? It’s a good starting point for this forum.

By the way, are you applying for Connect Live 2020 with this post? If so, as part of the requirement, you need to write the post under Local Stories topic.

Check out this How to write a great connect live post for more information.

You can edit your post/message. Click that three dots and select “Edit Message” as shown in below screenshot.

Once in edit mode, select local stories as Topic. You can only select one topic.

Good luck

Yes, I chose this post to apply and I have chosen topic ‘food and drink’. Must I use sentences ‘What’s the most interesting thing you’ve done as a Local Guide’ before writing the next title?

This is my very first post, hope you will guide me :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @itsnaamaliatun have you had a chance to read "How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 " that I sent before?

From that article it say:

You have to choose from these two prompts. You don’t need to write both.

  • What’s the most interesting thing you’ve done as a Local Guide?
  • What does the Local Guides program mean to you?

And

Select the Local Stories topic

Both of this year’s prompts are about you and why you’re a Local Guide, so be sure to publish your post under Local Stories and link to it in your application.

hope it helps. Good luck
