My experience as a Local Guide started for fun three years ago at my birthday when I posted a picture of a juicy and delicious roasted pork ribs with French mustard; it is currently my most viewed photo with more than 42.000 views and it is really meaningful to me because it reminds me of the peaceful scenery of the Alps and the picturesque lodge I was eating at (LO RIONDET, La Thuile, Italy).
Since that day I reviewed and photographed dishes of any kind such as Japanese sushi, hamburgers, Indian curry, Chinese noodles and last but not least pizza!
The Local Guide experience encouraged me to deeply explore my surroundings and made me rediscover with a new eye the city I live in; for instance I took a photo of the Baroque QUEEN VILLA located on the hill of Turin (Italy) and it made me understand how valuable is my city with its historical sights, its contemporary buildings and its gorgeous mountains.
I love the concept of sharing opinions and pictures on Google Maps in order to make a connection with thousands of people and increase the curiosity for a certain food or place to visit.
I had one of my favorite experiences with my boyfriend Alberto exploring the intricate alleys of Genova, discovering typical street food and adding the photos of our ‘culinary tour’ on Google Maps.
At the ancient FRIGGITORIA CAREGA we ate fried squid, octopus and anchovies, then at PESTOBENE we had some handmade pesto, after that we had a creamy and delicious gelato at LA CREMERIA DELLE ERBE and finally we took a quick stop at the local market for an handful of giant green olives.
The most interesting thing I’ve done as a local guide has been making positive impact on others and help them to make the best choice. I also hope I have inspired them to join the Local Guide program too!
