Local Guides is a great place where one can learn and contribute so many things, from adding photos to adding new roads, to share their experience on the place which can help ton of commuters and locals around.
The Most interesting thing I’ve done as Local Guide is to add photos and reviews on different places wherever i go, i usually take photos from my phone. It’s great to check out places before i go there, i see the photos, reviews and prepare accordingly. It feels great that people like me add reviews which will help the commuters around it. So, wherever i go i add photos of the place from different angles and write review about it, it helps others in a great way
Few years back i had visited first time to Bangkok (an unplanned trip with my friends and their parents)
Being on this place(with minimal tour guidance) i actually realised the importance of Google Maps, wherever we use to go, Google Maps have helped us in a great way finding the trending places, activities to do around, famous beaches in town and Indian restaurants nearby me. These things helped us not just to go there but we can pre plan and see how the place looks like and helped us
The Other thing which i will like to share is the hotel where we stayed (Hotel Amari) very elegant and high scale hotel, great staff and rooms with different facilities available like pool, bar, dining arena, lounge, gym and many other activities, below is the photo of the swimming pool which was the a great place where we had spend our free time (nearby, area connecting to it) there is a free space for activities like table tennis and badminton as well!
Below is a after photo of a great place which is some miles away from beach, where we did underwater diving, it was an awesome experience, once in a life time we should do such things, we got to know about this place from Google Maps itself (exploring it), no doubt the locals helped us with few things but if this was not present i may have missed such an great opportunity to experience
I would also like to share photo of platinum fashion mall, there was a shop inside which i liked the clothing, it’s quality and the prices were also cheap, that place was not so famous earlier but i added a great review and some images of shop which will surely promote his business and give more exposure around!
Also there was this place named as Sriracha TigerZoo which i loved to go and there were many things which i added photos of. Whenever i check those on the Maps, it feels as a nostalgia of that time and feel to go back to such places, below are few of the pictures which i clicked ?
There are also many other places which directly or indirectly helped me or which were added by me and helped ton of people/business to get great exposure. Recently my 4 friends even complemented me with my pictures i added (360 Degrees) which was of a famous mall “Inorbit Mall” in Mumbai, which was featured and whenever anyone types that, my photo was in the front(it is not shown now, as it changes every week/month), which again made me proud that my photos help people. (few more featured photos which still are featured as they did not got much exposure, but now those places are getting famous/trending) They even asked me out the local Guides Programme and i was happy to say them about it as it will not just grow the community but help the commuters and business in a great way, it is more than 3 years+ journey with great exposure on diffrent things and looking forward to contribute more and expand the Local Guides Community
