My son at one of our favorite trails we like to hike
So far, the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide, is adding places (6480 Bender Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233 for example). It’s very satisfying once you finally see your handy work start to pop-up on Google Maps.
It has been a learning process, but I’m starting to get it. I’m working on adding some local trails from my hometown right now, but that has really been a trial and error process so far.
Thankfully, Local Guides Connect has been an invaluable tool for me on this journey. If it wasn’t for the moderators, Googlers, and other Local Guides, I’d definitely be lost. This community is really all about helping each other, and helping to make Google Maps everything it can be.
I used to think Google Maps was basically “complete”. Like, if you couldn’t find it on Google Maps, it must not exist. Now I realize, it’s continuously being improved, and it take an entire community to accomplish the standards we are all used to today.
Listed below is one of the trails I have recently been working on. I’m excited to continue with the addition of the actual routes in these newly added trails, as well as adding other new places.
I hope everyone is enjoying helping make Google Maps what it is today, as much as I am.
