Besides discovering new places in the world around me in great detail, the most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide is upload pictures to Google Maps.
I like taking photos of small business, especially newly opened coffee shops, and uploading them on Google Maps. By putting these pictures, I’m able to help business owners getting more visibility and their potential clients to see what products they offer. Lastly two restaurant owners thanked me on Google Maps because I additionally wrote a review for them. I was happy that I could help them in that way. Here’s a sneak peek of a photo I have taken and my personal impact:
Mame is a cofffee shop in Zurich which offers coffee beans from all over the world. Both owners are barista champions of Switzerland, Emi in 2015 and Mathieu just one year later. I have been there several times but one of my friends didn’t. So, I thought this might be a good place for our next meetup.
My friend is Brazilian, and she knows how the coffee should be. It’s hard to find good coffee in Zurich and she was a bit sceptical about another coffee shop. When we arrived there, she first tried a sip of some Colombian coffee and couldn’t believe how tasty it was! Because of that, we ordered together a package of several coffees to try, from cold and without plant-based milk to classic hot coffee. We really enjoyed all our coffees there. I was happy to show her a new place where from now on she would visit more often. With our visit, also my review and picture on Google Maps the owners gained for sure another customer.
