Yakutia is a heart of Siberia: northern lights, deer sledding, winters with the temperature -50 (sometimes -70) degrees, diamonds, small nationalities, shamans and paganism etc: it’s all about Yakutia.
Today i would like to tell you about one place in Yakutia, which one is connected with one very old Legend. This Legend about one man, Manchaary, who fought for the independence and justice of civil society. He hated corrupt officials and those who advocated slavery. Suddenly he returned the wealth to rightful owners, to the commons, and he hid half of the jewels under one tree in this place, Dylbaakhy, for the next generation. A lot of people try to find it, but it wasn`t succesfull. And some people still try to find it.
Dylbaakhy is an area in the western part of the Megino-Kangalassky region of Yakutia, which includes a number of high hills and forests. The total diameter is about 50 kilometers. It has a number of settlements, for example Tomtor and Tehtur.
The area is famous not only for the Legend of Manchaary, but also for many religious burials by the shaman (oyuun).
Currently, the forest and hills of Dylbaakhy is a tourist destination, in places it is a protected nature reserve.
