The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide: Posting Photos

Like others, I love and enjoy Traveling. Though my traveling is limited only in Bangladesh, I hope to cross the limit soon. Anyway, while traveling around Bangladesh I enjoy a lot when I visit beautiful places. I do not forget to take pictures and post them on Google Maps. I think that it’s a great opportunity for me to help people showing the beautiful places, locations and things being as a Google Local Guide. I feel proud to be a part of the Google Local Guide Program to help people. So, I am truly grateful to Google Local Guide Program.

I have posted some pictures (captured by me) on Google Maps which have got about 30k views. I know this is not huge but I will not stop doing this. When I plan to travel to a new place, I take a look at Google Maps at first to see how the place, distance from my location, beauty for this location, etc. Not only me, but many people do the same.

This December (December 2019) I went to Saint Martin with my family (my wife Supriya and my son Prottoy), the most beautiful Island in Bangladesh. The small coral island of St Martin’s is located near Cox’s Bazar District, and a ferry service from Teknaf/Coxs Bazar to the island, and is available daily. The white beaches are popular amongst travelers, and they are beautifully lined with tall coconut trees and crystal clear waters that creep onto the sand. The Traveller can enjoy the beauty of this Island in a day and can go back to the town. About 5500 people live here. Their main profession is fishing and tourism. The island has become the most popular tourist spot in Bangladesh. That’s why every year a lot of people from home and abroad come here to enjoy the beauty of this Coral Island.

I have taken some pictures of this beautiful Island. Though I am not a professional photographer I love taking pictures with my Smartphone when I travel. I do not forget to post the photos on Google Maps. I love this because it gives me pleasure to my monotonous life. So, I have taken it as my hobby.
