I started blogging in 2010 to record my life, travel, and work experience in different regions and countries.
For me, the Local Guides program is a convenient platform that allows me to sharing many interesting things and personal opinion to people easily.
I’ve written some content that I find interesting and others also like it. Such as these comments:
1. A delicious local street food that smells like shit
I used the phrase “smell like shit; taste like heaven” to introduce a local street food I really like in Hualien, Taiwan called “stinky tofu”.
I also wrote a review:
“Remind you: if you want to eat stinky tofu in the restaurant, you must have the determination to get stinky; if you want to take it out, please put it in the back compartment, not in the seating area in the car, otherwise the driver and passengers will hate you.”
I got a few likes in this review. I think they agree with me.
2. Hometown food that looks like food waste
There is a quite special traditional cuisine called “Dai mian geng” in my hometown Taichung. This is a unique thick soup noodle have a strong alkaline taste that not many tourist likes this flavor. But many locals who have lived in Taichung for decades pretty love this cuisine.
Although I am also a local who has lived in Taichung for a long time, I don’t like it’s taste very much.
So I wrote a review:
“I think like other countries’ food culture, “Surströmming is the favorite cuisine of the Swedes, and blue cheese is a popular food of the Europeans”, “Dai mian geng” should also be a local food loved by everyone live in Taichung.”
But it turns out that my view is wrong.
3. A special quick haircut barbershop
I gave a ironic 1 star review to a quick barber shop.
I wrote that “The hairdresser at this barbershop was very creative and cut my hair as if it had been bitten by a dog.”
I got likes from others. I think many people have the same unforgettable memories.
4. Even chickens feel their legs are delicious
I used a special adjective, “Even chickens feel their legs are delicious” to describe the first time I had the best Hainanese chicken rice in Taipei.
The Local Guides Program lets me to record my life experiences in a fun way, and to share these fun experiences with others.
