Living in a small town in Northern ontario has its benefits, having a natual beauty of the outdoors without having to travel very far. One of the downsides of living in a smaller town is because of our scale we don’t have as many of the perks that come with being in a big city, such as large announcements when new businesses or buildings come to town or are leaving. Because of this, you can sometimes encounter suggestions of places to eat online only to find out that when you get their, that they have moved locations or have gone out of bussiness. Thats where I come in. I’ve made it a personal duty of mine to keep store hours, business opening and closings, and moving locations up to date in my local community whenever I come across them. There are so many new small businesses constantly opening up in the Soo that I would love for people who just arrived should really check out, and theres no worse feeling than getting those a suggestion and then having it not physically be there when you get there. As businesses come and go, or change locations, its important for that information to stay up to date, not only for that businesses bottom line, but also so that we keep a positive image for tourists to our city so that they don’t leave town frustrated that they couldn’t find a place they were looking for.
If you’re ever in the Soo, definitely use google maps for the latest on where people hang out for food or nightlife, and take a look in the corner, you might see that it was updated by me!
