Adding places, photos and correction of location names has been the most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide and it brings me a lot of joy; from getting to know I help people move around easily and more precisely, to inclusion of new places and photos. I got so much surprised when I added my first place I think, it was a school here in my locality where I went to fix up some computers and surveillance cameras and just within couple of weeks.
I got to see that it’s gotten quite a number of views; meaning I have helped interested people in getting to know more about my added school and photos… And more so, I guess I must have helped out in a way because I have heard people referencing the school photos they saw on Google Maps and how it’s helped them in both making decision for their kids’ school to helping to find their way to the school location precisely. Hence, this was how my journey to being an active Local Guide began.
Afterward, I moved on the add another primary school which I service as well, it’s an alma-mata to some many in my locality and I was wowed as to the comments and responses I get to see on the photos… My interest in contributing to Google Maps grew the more that I actually added a shortcut of the contribute page to the desktop of my phone so I can have a faster access to it, lol. But now, I get a link to contribute on the Google Map App. Then I made couple of correction of location names in my locality, and then went on to add more and more location, Local Guide reviews and talk about few places I have visited too and I’m intending to keep helping people in one of the most amazing ways by contributing to the improvement of my locality and more on Google Maps.

Hello @lanray you might have wondered what happened to the posts you wrote, as they all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, they were accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here - simply editing a published post can already trigger them).
