The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide: Free trekking through Patagonia, Argentina

This year I discovered one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. It is located in Patagonia Argentina, in El Chaltén. The city is famous for being the national capital of Trekking. In the morning I had breakfast at Hostel Los Pioneros which is strategically located at the beginning of the trails, it offers a good breakfast to be able to start the desired trail with a lot of energy.

At the beginning of the trails you choose which one you want to do it, as there are several, but I recommend doing the Fitz Roy, which is one of the most famous and a medium level trail. Tip, in order to enjoy the day well, it is good to start the tour in the morning, as it is a 10 km walk.

On the way to Mount Fitz Roy, the city of El Chaltén becomes distant, creating a beautiful panoramic view between the mountains. Oh! The trail paths are very good, all well signposted and safe.

After an hour of walking it is possible to see the imposing Fitz Roy from far. It is one of those “wow” landscapes, gigantic, imposing and beautiful.

At the last kilometer of the trail I arrived at the camp called Poincenot, a place that you can camp for free or just have a snack and get some rest.

It is in this place that I saw one of the most beautiful landscapes in Patagonia. I stayed for a long time enjoying the exuberance of Mount Fitz Roy and, as I am a curious Local Guide, I captured photos and videos to show people, soon after I returned to El Chaltén.

The tour is incredible, it is completely free, safe, for all ages. An unforgettable experience!

Thanks Andrey, it is a place that I highly recommend getting to know and absorbing as much of the experiences that he can offer.

Hello @diearsan you might have wondered what happened to the first post you wrote, as that all of a sudden disappeared, right? Well, actually, it was accidentally caught in our spam filter (which is quite strict out here). I have now released it and merged it with your other post, to avoid that your Connect account would get flagged as spammer.

The result is that the content of your first post is now added as a comment to your second post. If you want, you can remove the content of that comment by clicking the ‘…’ at the bottom of the comment and then simply removing the content there (or replace it with something like “content removed as it was an accidental duplicate”).

Best of luck with your application for Connect Live!
