The most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide: adding videos

If to be honest, despite on fact that I am a 7 level local guide, I have discovered the opportunity to add videos on Google Maps recently. And I was simply impressed. Because this is the most powerful tool to transfer the atmosphere of every single place which I attend. There are only 4 types of content on the Internet: text, audio, picture, and video! But the only video can transmit as much as other types of content cannot. Since I found out that we can add videos to Google maps, I began to add as many videos as I can. Firstly, because I just love to make a video, secondly — I try to convey the atmosphere of the place to other users, and if something is interesting on each particular place, I try to shoot it…

Coffee on WOG.

For example,in Ukraine, we have several brands of network gas stations. But, only on “WOG”-chain gass station you can get your coffee in a specific way. You have to use a specific QR-code (at cash receipt) for you to make coffee. There is only such a decision on WOG-chain gas stations… I have never seen such a way of making coffee for yourself on other gas stations. It is used to be to make coffee without any QR-codes on cash receipts in WOG gas stations… But they implemented this decision about two years ago… So, as you can figure out, I decidet to shoot the video about making coffee on this gass station. You can watch it here. I hope it will be useful for users who have never made coffee this way at this gas station. I was like that too. :slightly_smiling_face:

Grokholsky-Tereshchenko Palace

Another example is just to transla an atmosphere of such place. It is very interesting story. This castle is located near my hometown. I am 36, but I never knew about this castle and I have never been there… And only thanks to the list of one Google Map user (now I even do not remember his name) I learned about this magical place. Unfortunately, the castle is now in a state of neglect … And the video is a cool opportunity to convey the atmosphere. Here is this video

Instructions on how to print a sticker with a price for a pie :slightly_smiling_face:

Here is another example how I use an opportunity to add a video on Google Maps. I remember when these machines for printing stickers with a price appeared, I had to spend a little effort to figure out how to use them. Also, often I saw people, especially older people, who generally found it difficult to figure out how to find their product in the menu of this machine and print this sticker … Therefore, in this case, I decided to shoot a short video how to use this machine. I hope in the future it will help someone …

In conclusion, I hope that all these videos will help to make the user experience better in each particular place. It would be great if there was an opportunity to comment on the video on Google Maps… And it would probably be cool if it were possible to shoot a video longer than 30 seconds …
