The most interesting thing I have done as a localguide

For it all started as fun, I stumbled on some links couple of years ago trying to get accurate direction to a beach in Lagos. That’s how I got to know about local guide, I found the information quite useful and I decided to become a local guide myself. So far I have reviewed alot of places , given guides to alot of people through this platform. I love being a local guide

Thank you for sharing your story, Sirrichie! I started in a similar way as you. I googled a place trying to find more information on it. I found the information to be very useful, most importantly the reviews. It was interesting to see what others in my community, and those visiting, had to say versus the sales pitch that is often found on the attractions website. I like to be prepared when visiting somewhere new. I want to know how to get in and out of the location, what to order/buy/experience from others that have been there before me. I believe in learning from others mistakes so I don’t have to make them.

Keeping in the spirit of the subject line, the most interesting thing I have done as a local guide would have to be the few million in photo views I’ve reached. I’m not on any of the social media sites so to me, a random guy living in uneventful Delaware of all places, having that many views is kinda neat. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have been reviewing and taking pictures for quite some time, however, this is my first visit to this website. I hope to get plugged in and meet as many of you fine folks as I can in my travels!

Hi @Sirrichie ,

It looks like this is your application post for Connect Live 2020 , so I will move it to the Local Stories section which is the right place for this type of posts. Here you can find everything you need to know about writing a post for your Connect Live 2020 application. If you think you are missing some of the points mentioned, you can always edit the post and add them.

Thank you IVi_Ge, I actually tried completing the application but had challenges with the links . Google Should have made this much easier for everyone. Copying links and pasting isn’t fun at all because I tried and I kept on getting error reports. So I gave up on the application process

Hi @Sirrichie ,

I am sorry to hear that you had some troubles during the application process. We recommend inputting all of your responses into a Google Doc before you submit, and testing every link with a friend, so you can be absolutely confident in your submission.

If you need some help please don’t hesitate to ask us.

Just to remind you, remember to use the @ and the name of the Local Guide you’re replying to so that they can see your message. Otherwise it might get lost.
