INTERESTING THING I HAVE DONE AS A LOCAL GUIDE.
I have been a Local guide for about 5 years now, I was quite skeptical didn’t know it works, until I was made a believer.
First off I was Like I am the epitome of Lagos Map in human form, probably because friends and family kept telling me google needs to employ to up their game and help them document hard to reach areas. But atlas I have found a way to do that without going to work for Google.
I know it takes other Local guides contributing their findings to the platform for me to seamlessly navigate around Lagos state with the aid of my Google map, and enjoy adding my findings to the platform as well to help others. The Local Guides program enables me to review places I have been to, and due to the nature of my Job I move around alot, either trying to get to the Airport, Lagos Island, Victoria Idland, Festac, Lekki, Ajah, depending on the activities of the the day.
Since I also like Food, Music, and Games, The program enables me to contribute to topics and issues that matters to me and will definitely be of help to others.
While I have so many interesting things I have done as a local guide, the memory sticking out right now would have to be my visit to a Restaurant here in Lekki, Lagos named CIRCA NON PERIL, I went there with my family to have a birthday dinner. I met the manager and I told him I just loved the ambience and setting of place, I told him I was going to give him good reviews as a Local Guide. He told me he is obviously not in charge of the Restaurant’s social media, and doesn’t know what it means to be a Local Guide. It gave me great pleasure to show him how it works, and walked him through it, and at the end of our meal he gave me a discount. This is one of many interesting things I have done as a local guide.
